Indications
Painful & non-painful inflammatory startes, w/ hyperpyrexia, of the osteoarticular apparatus.
Dosage
Tab 100 mg bid increasing up to 200 mg bid. Susp Childn 8-14 kg 3.5 mg/kg/day in 2 divided doses; >14 kg 4 mg/kg/day in 2 divided doses.
Contraindications
Gi hemorhage, active gastroduodenal ulcer, severe renal failure, asthma, moderate to severe hepatic impairment, history or presence of hepatic disease, allergic-type reactions to sulfonamides.
Precautions
History of hemorrhages, upper Gi tract diseases, renal failure, reduced heart function, hypertension, vision disorders. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Pyrosis, nausea, gastralgia, erythematous or urticarioid skin rashes; rarely headache, dizziness, drowsiness, oliguria, edema, melena, petechiae, purpura, thrombocytopenia. Stevens-Johnson syndrome, Lyell's syndrome, anaphylactic reactions.
Interactions
Anticoagulants or platelet aggregation inhibitors.
