Indications
Hypertension.
Dosage
0.5-1 tab daily.
Contraindications
Pregnancy & severe hepatic impairment, biliary cirrhosis & cholestasis. Anuria, severe enal impairment. Refractory hypokalaemia, hyponatraemia, hypercalcaemia & symptomatic hyperuricaemia. Lactation.
Precautions
Na-&/or vol-depleted patients, renal artery stenosis, SLE.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, dizziness, fatigue, sinusitis, pharyngitis, upper resp tract infection, back pain, diarrhoea, viral infection, chest pain, nausea, rhinitis, dyspepsia, UTI, abdominal pain, micturition frequency, bronchitis, dyspnoea, leg pain, sprains, abnormal vision, leg cramps, impotence, insomnia, rash.
Interactions
K supplements, K-sparing diuretics, heparin, lithium, curare, other antihypertensives, NSAIDs, corticosteroids, ACTH, amphotericin, carbenoxolone, penicillin G, insulin, oral antidiabetics, allopurinol, anticholinergics, cytotoxics, hydrochlorothiazide, methyldopa, cholestyramine, cyclosporin
